Apu löytyi vaipasta: suorakaiteen muotoinen kosteuden kestävä kangas, jonka päiden tarranauhat vedetään koiran mahan ympäri, sisälle vaippa tai terveysside. Märän vaipan vaihtaminen on paljon mukavampaa kuin lätäköiden etsiminen tai niihin törmääminen.
