The MTA Bus Company Route Supervisor and all of the people involved in the canceling of the stops on the Manhattan end of the BM1 and BM2 bus routes on the former Command Buslines in Brooklyn must be doing something. The BM1 and BM2 buses runs with empty seats ($5.00 each) to Manhattan while the BM3 is crowded because it is the only bus that can pick up passengers on Coney Island Avenue and Church Avenue. The 3 has the oldest equipment in the garage.
Whoever is making the decisions to cut the ability of buses to pick up passengers because they are at the terminal end of their route is nuts too. It was until about two years ago, a passenger of an express bus could transfer to another express bus anywhere on hte route by inserting their MetroCard into the fare box. No more, all stops in Manhattn have signs "Drop Off Only" and a passenger cannot get on in Manhattan. Likewise between rush hours the buses are not permitted to pickup or drop off passengers at any but the designated stops even if they are empty. Since these changes have gone into effect the great bus service from Kensington and to Boro Park Lefferts Gardens has disappeared. This makes it very hard to take a premium priced express bus to Brookly n from Manhattan and forces the use of the subway to save time. STATISTICS can be used to prove anything paying passengers per vehicle on the BM1 & BM2 lines has to be down.
