I also believe in a literal, dispensational interpretation of God's Word. Without such an interpretation, one can only encounter mass confusion. Second Timothy 2:15 states: Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. This dividing has to do with dispensations and enables one to arrive at accurate conclusions. Although I have already presented many reasons for my rejection of the teaching that the Church will go through the Tribulation, I would like to add two additional thoughts at this point.
First, as mentioned previously, Daniel's seventieth week (Daniel 9:24-27) is divided into three sections -- seven weeks, sixty-two weeks, and one final week. Since the Church had nothing nothing to do with the first sixty-nine weeks, why should she be involved in the final, or seventieth, week? Through logical deduction, one sees that, since only Israel was involved in the sixty-nine weeks of the past, only she could be involved in the final, seventieth week, which is the Tribulation hour. I quote Daniel 9:24 in its entirety: Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Secondly, Revelation 3:10 states: Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. The original wording here is "earth dwellers." We Christians often sing, "This world is not my home; I'm just passing through." This is a true statement because Christians are not earthly, or earth dwellers. Only the unsaved are called by this name. Thus, all those who have been ransomed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ are kept out of the hour of Tribulation, which is only for the earthly unsaved or earth dwellers.
