As a friend to the children, commend me the Yak.
You will find it exactly the thing:
It will fetch and carry, you can ride on its back,
Or lead it about with a string.
The Tartars, who live in eastern Tibet,
A desolate region of snow,
Have for centuries kept it a nursery pet,
And surely the Tartars should know!
So tell your papa where a yak can be got,
And if he is terribly rich
Perhaps he will buy one; or, perhaps he will not,
I can not be positive which.
