My favorite was the Place Louis Real in downtown Winnipeg. Decent monthly rates and convenient to everything. Plant was about 8 miles. Traffic was light and even in the winter, the plant was a short drive. Lots of nearby restaurants and places to see.

Club Regents is another great place to say. Near NF and has restaurants, bars and even a casino. Priced competitively

Where to stay in St. Cloud, MN - New Flyer -- Tolo, 17:21:10 07/09/04 Fri

If you do any work at New Flyer in St. CLoud, MN, try out the Grand Stay Residential Suites. They offer 2 room suites with full kitchens, tvs in each room, breakfast, pool, hot tub, onsite laundry, very clean and new and with other great benefits. Even barbeque grills!

Located downtown with lots of good restaurants and other services nearby. Plant is 8 miles, 15 minutes away and traffic is light. They get lots of inspectors and know the routine. Price IS negotiable. Get suite for less than the price of a regular hotel room. I stayed there for 10 weeks and highly recommend them.

Manager's name is Trent. Great staff and they will work with you.

Crookston MN. (New Flyer) -- tolo, 07:18:59 02/17/04 Tue

If you stay in Crookston, try the Northland Inn. They have a bar and restaurant, pool, hot tub etc. Handy especially in the winter. No alternative has these features. They have long term rates and will put a microwave and fridge in if you request it.

I get a double room, have one bed removed, Queen sized, and have them put in a table to use as a desk and some extra chairs. Some rooms are larger than others. Ask for a bigger one. Poolside rooms are smaller. Lots more comfortable for a long term stay if you get the bigger one.

Restaurant is good and the bar is comfortable where they also serve meals. Saves going out into the -30 weather for meals especially on weekends. They also have a continental breakfast during the week.

NABI -- tolo, 19:54:39 11/04/03 Tue

If you are going to inspect buses at NABI in Anniston Alabama, there are alternatives to the hotels that are cost effective and more convenient. The Ski Lodge has funished apartments that start at about $700. This includes all but telephone.

Mountain View Apartments is very close to the plant and runs about $1100 per month. This includes all utilities including phone.

Both include basic cable.

Even a dump hotel costs more than these two alternatives. You also save because both have full kitchens and meals can be prepared at home.

Extended Stay in NYC -- ToLo, 12:21:03 07/01/02 Mon

We found a place in Whitestone NY, just north of Queens, that seems to be a great deal for that area. Extended Stay America. Has a full kitchen and cost about $600 a week. Most other places there were significantly higher. Free parking. Only drawback is no close-by mass transit...

There are actually 3 bus routes that come close to the hotel; one is right next to the hotel. It is a short ride to the Flushing Rail station and the #7 train to Manhatten. Whole trip takes about 45 minutes. Get an unlimited fare card from METRO if you plan to go often.
