He was in the kitchen putting together a meal for the two of them, waiting for Aly to come home. He didn't mind playing Mr Housewife once in a while, which he was doing today -- it gave him a good deal of pleasure to have a nice meal on the table when she got home. He had the stereo turned up quite loudly, bobbing his head to some random Top 40 R n B station -- he was, by far and away an emo guy when it came down to it, but variety was the spice of life and a rythm was all it took to get him moving.

She was incredibly releived that the show was now well and truely finished and she could concentrate on finishing dance school and spending time with Charlie. She was no longer in constant pain and exhaustion and she was finding life pretty easy going now in comparision- despite how hard her dance teachers made her work. Today though she had met up with her mother and sister after school and they had gone for a shopping trip, her and Anastacia being spoilt rotten by their mother. It was rare that the three of them spent much time together but as both she and Stacie had gotten older the time spent together was always very enjoyable. They had dropped her off here on their way home so she hadn;t had to drive. He scooted to the stereo to turn down the music that had been blaring through the apartment, and over to her to help her with the bags. "Are you talking to me or the dogs?" He dropped her bags on the couch and ruffled Desiree's ears playfully -- the dog had eventually warmed to the thought of another girl sharing his bed, but not unless she got to have a doggy bed on the floor on his side of the bed, so she was within reach in case that evil "other woman" ever tried anything with her master. She grinned and stood up , wrapping her arms around his neck affectionately as her fluffy english sheepdog sprawled himself out on the floor to have his stomach rubbed. Aly was more interested in her boyfriend though- much to her pup's dismay. He certainly appreciated that they had finally found a lot in life where they could both feel comfortable and happy -- he was glad to see her so less stressed out, looking healthier and better than she had ever, it seemed. She was really very excited about christmas... she had it all planned and everything. They had thought about going to one of their parents but they had found it too hard to decide which set to go to- so they had settled on having it to themselves, though no doubt they'd nip around to both sets on christmas night. He took the stir fry off of the heat of the stove and emptied the contents of his wok onto two plates. "Vegetable stir fry, rice and eggrolls." He grinned, proud of himself, the eggrolls and rice had come from boxes, the rice being the five minute variety, and really -- how hard was it to make stir fry? "Well, I try. What did your mom and sister have to say today? Did you dish on me and tell them how awful I am?" He leaned his head against hers and twisted his neck to try and kiss her but it wasn't quite as easy as he'd thought. He got out a couple of forks and headed over to the island with their plates. To be truthful, he had fretted a lot more than written songs, he had a ring in his pocket that he'd picked up today and it was burning a hole in his pocket. She grinned and made his struggle easier by standing up on tiptoes and pressing kisses to his neck, affectionate and loving as he dished up. She followed him over tot he island and lifted herself up onto the tall stool, taking her plate and fork. A grin spread across his features at the mention of her family, he could imagine the scenarios played out in his mind and just shook his head, tucking into his food, and looking back up at her. She grinned softly at that and continued the playful banter and easy conversation throughout dinner, her bright blue eyes flickering up to his int heir usualy happy adoring fashion as she listened to him or teased him gently, eating her way throught he delicious meal he had made for her. He could just imagine the disaster the apartment would be in come Christmas time, with the dogs, and a Christmas tree and presents, wrapping, and of course they'd have Danny and Malia in, they would entertain, actually behave like adults -- it was a bit of a stretch of the imagination but not the worst thing he could think of. He loved seeing Mali and Danny around with the baby, but that was the only way he ever saw them. He rummaged in his pocket a moment, shifting to get better access and pulled out the ring -- it had just been floating loose in his pocket, a lot less suspicious looking than a big bulge from a jewelery box. He offered it to her, this was a lot easier than he had thought it would be -- if he thought about it much longer, he would have chickened out, but just going ahead and doing it made it a lot less scary. "Alright then." He grinned a little as he pulled away from her lips just briefly to speak, drawing his lips back to hers easily, one hand cupping her jaw lightly before he finally pulled away, gauging her feelings in her eyes -- she had always told the whole story with her eyes. He saw what he had been hoping for -- absolute love, excitement and pleasure at the entire prospect of being married -- that was all he had been hoping for. She and her mother had always planned this bug huge expensive princess wedding for her when she was little- her mother had even confided that she had thousands tucked away in a savings account for her- but Aly had taken on Charlies view on some things in the last while- and a modest intimate wedding sounded perfect. He smiled at her words -- she knew what to say to stroke his ego, and though it wasn't all that important for him, it was nice to know once in a while that the person you planned to spend the rest of your life with felt the exact same way about you. She couldn;t keep from grinning, soft roses of color blossomed in her cheeks as she already had the whole thing planned in her head.
