1 envelope yeast
1 cup warm water
6 cups flour,divided
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp.butter(or shortening)
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp.salt
2 eggs

Dissolve envelope of yeast in the cup of warm water.Mix in 2 cups
flour.Let rise 3 hours.Scald 1 cup milk with butter,sugar and
salt.Set aside to cool.Add 4 cups flour(or 2 cups white and 2 cups
wheat),the pan of liquid and the eggs.Let rise until doubled(about
2 hours).Knead dough.Divide dough in two and let rest 15 minutes.
Knead dough and put into greased bread pans.Let rise until dough
comes to top of pan,about 1 hour.Bake for 35 minutes at 325 or 350
degrees.Makes 2 large loaves or 3 smaller loaves.
