I found that arriving early last year was one of the best decisions I made with regards to the 'Roo. You probably won't have much choice over where you park, but all the camps are cool, and I'm pretty sure that you could hear the music from the main stage no matter where you were camping last year. Which reminds me -- with the Bonnaroo/Sirius radio connection this year, they will probably broadcast the bigger shows throughout the campgrounds. So even if you are tired and want to head back to your camping spot, you can still enjoy the music!
I listened to a number of sets last year from my camping spot, which was about a 1/2 hour walk from the concert grounds. And the music was still pretty darn loud! They set the main stages up so that they blast music into the campgrounds until midnight, and then the action moves to the smaller tents (which are facing AWAY from the campgrounds, so people can sleep if they choose to). It's really an ingenious set-up! Those guys at AC Entertainment and Superfly Productions should be commended for thinking about these kinds of things....
Last year they named all the campgrounds after television characters (we were in Camp Tootie, I think...the chick from Diff'rent Strokes). Hopefully they will continue the creativity this year! Man, I can't wait for this thing!
Anybody else heading to Long Island for the Field Day festival or Bonnaroo NE????
