I went last year. I brought very little food and ate from venders all weekend. Inside the "village", they were selling everything from hot dogs to gyros to pizza to whatever, and prices were actually very decent. My girlfriend went to Woodstock '99 and saw how much they ripped people off there, and she said that she was amazed by how reasonable Bonnaroo's vendors were. There was also some "amateur" vending out in the campground area, and those guys were charging the typical prices. I can't really remember specific prices. I think I paid around $3 or $4 for a veggie gyro inside the "village". Like I said, it was even better than regular arena prices.
I would recommend bringing at least $100 - $200 to play with, if you can afford it, and that way you will have extra $$ for the ride home as well. Some people take more. Some take less. Make sure you have plenty of money for liquids (you should be drinking several bottles a day at the very least). Take more money if you think there are other things you might want to pick up. There's all kynds of stuff to buy there, if you dig me.

Have fun! Maybe I'll see ya down there!

Bob
