Her name is Arwen Evenstar, and she's my new alter ego. Yes, I got bored and created a new vamp. Yes, at a time when I was hard-up for good names. Yes, it's a darn shame to turn Arwen into a vamp. But sucking the lifeblood out of Liv Tyler... that would be a favor to the world. ;-) Below is her 'birth announcement' as I placed it on Lost In Shadows, the vampire LJ community I belong to: In the distance, the wailing of a new victim can be heard. Another has been born into the land of the undead. Some already undead wander inquisitively toward the sound of the gradually-subsiding cry. In a secluded alleyway, the find their new sister. She is dressed in a forest-green gown of a curiously simple yet elegant fashion. In her right hand, she holds a small, curved hunting knife. The clean glint of the blade in the moonlight reveals that it never found its intended target. It is clear that the maiden has always been fair of skin, but this night her skin has become as pale as new-fallen snow. Her black hair, pulled back to reveal delicately pointed ears, falls in loosely-curled cascades down her back. Two bright red puncture wounds are the only mark on her smooth, white neck. On her chest hangs a curiously-worked pendant. The gem in the center sparkles brilliant white, seeming to have a light all its own. The newly undead maiden looks with suspicion at the gathering crowd. Her penetrating glare shows that she somehow feels the difference in this crowd. She knows they are not the creatures she is accustomed to. And yet, she senses that they and she are now of one kinship. Slowly, she replaces the knife in a hidden sheath. Trembling slightly, but with an air of authority, she speaks. "I am Arwen Evenstar. What is this place?"
