Woohoo! Welcome to the Dark Side, Molly! Surprise is wonderful. I forgot I had it right after I got it, and I was sooooo ticked about coming across a blue bank, when I had about 100 coins. Then all the sudden, it hit me... I had Surprise! It said 'Move Here' on that blue square. Woohoo!!!

Anyway... yes, get Thievery! T1 is cheap, and it opens new and exciting worlds to you! As for powers with quests... well, you don't have to rush into anything. Take your time. ;-)
