"Sonnet"
The snow falls softly in her hair,
white upon featherly wings of the hawk.
So often do the flakes fall there,
leaving me and all to gawk.

Does she know what spell she casts?
With a look, a gesture, stance...
such a moment becomes long and lasts.
But 'tisn't her form that sends the world to trance.

Her soul is a tempest, a thundering typhoon.
With every day work she gives her all,
when will it be? Years from now? Soon?
When my efforts will not appall.

"Endless Night"
So often I'm lost in dreams
the haze of night
and happy thoughts veil everything else.

I am caught in the spell of my own longing.
Bedazzled by the reflection of the moon on the lake.
Would it be such a sin to wish to never wake
to never feel the cold touch of the morn?

"Question of the Universe and Answer"
Once I stared into a flame
and asked for the answer of the universe.
It wasn't a riddle.
It wasn't a rhyme.
It wasn't an answer then.
"Because" is what was said to me.
Yet now, I look back to that day long past.
And the answer to a question asked,
"Why do I protect her?"
The answer is simply because.
It may not mean anything,
but it is everything.
It is just what must be.
