[occ-eh, I spent a while trying to figure it out (what the string-design is) and then asked you somewhere else (but I think the post got lost) so I just decided to reply to the post anyway. ^__^]

[ the thief's fingers turned the gold band over in his pocket, just letting the ring slide through and over them (but never allowing it to slip on), and he forgot he where he was. it was a couple seconds after Lily had asked her latest question before it sunk in, and it took a moment more for Briar to get his eyes to focus. being that his brain had slipped onto something else altogether, he was having a hard time focusing (or even getting his mouth to work). he would have compared it to being extremely tired and attempting to read for several minutes before you realised you'd gone over the same sentance ten times and still had no idea what it said-except, the boy had never read a book in his life. Briar finally managed to force something out, and avoid slapping his head an attempt to get his thoughts straightened out.

"w-wha-string...sorry, I musta zoned out."

[ he finished, feeling like an idiot. jesus, he couldn't have even counted his fingers if you asked him (and that was the basis of his math, considering he'd never had any formal education). ho boy, he didn't even know what he'd just said. uncomfertable standing any longer (and worried that he might end up doing something even dumber) and "sat" [he collapsed about half way down]. the thief ended up with one leg underneath him and the other knee propped up in front of him.\, eyes on the grass.
