Unsucessfully he starts to slide, and the mount reachs his head around to the opposite side, grabs Briar by the foot, clamping down with his teeth, and heaving him all the way, Briar cursing the whole way, muttering something about swearing to hex the horse's ancestors. One hand grasps the horses mane-the other he was unwillingly to move; two ribs were agony on that side-and, looking ratteled, he still managed to groal, both to the steed and Lily, "You could have been a tiny bit genteler..." .x.
