Thank you to all who have been reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it. I have been trying to but i can't seem to bring this story to an end. But it will probably come soon. I just started writing the sequel to As Long as You Know, so i may post it up here soon. But if i don't post it here, it will be on B2KWeb Storynet. Aight, y'all read this chapter, and holla back at me.
Two Reasons I Cry
Chapter 11
Me’shelle and Omari have been doing everything planning their wedding. From picking out china to deciding on the wedding party. Everything was starting to fall into place and now they were in Omari’s kitchen deciding on guests.
“Aight, let me see,” Omari said as he looked over MeMe’s list. “Dang, baby, you got 225 people on here,” he said flipping the pages
“Well, yours isn’t much better,” she said as she looked at him,
“Actually, it is,” he said as he handed her his list,
“Oh my gosh, it is better, I’ve got 225, and you’ve got 215,” she said sarcastically
“Whatever, let’s go over this because I’m pretty sure we’ve got some of the same people on these lists.” He said as he pulled a seat next to her and they looked over one another’s list.
“Okay.” She said looking over his list “We got your moms, pops, O’ryan, Marq, Kelt, Rome, yada, yada,” she said as she reviewed the list then stopped, “Who’s Garcelle? I never heard you mention her, before.” She said looking at him waiting to answer
“Don’t trip. She ain’t nobody important, just an ex-girlfriend,” he said looking at his list
“If she ain’t important, why she on the list?” she questioned as she looked over at him
“Because I want her to come. Any more questions?” he said as he looked back at her, “No more questions? Good, let me see your list,” he said eyeing her list over
“Momma, Daddy, Ashley, Jarday, Capri, the boys, okay, okay,” he said looking over at the list, “Hold up,” he said getting up from the table, looking down at her,
“What?” she said cluelessly
“You got Jason on this list?” he said pointing to his name
“Yea, what’s the problem?” she said getting up from the table and getting some water out the fridge
“Okay, so you can do it, but I can’t?” Omari said as she looked over at him
“What are you talking bout, boo?” she said as he walked closer to her
“I am not believing this,” Omari said as he walked out the kitchen
“Baby, what’s wrong wit you,” she said as she followed him up the steps, “Baby,” she called out to him, but still no answer, they were now in his bedroom, he was in the closet messing around with stuff, “O, baby talk to me,” she said as he turned around to her
“You want me to talk to you? Aight then, I’ll talk,” he said as she waited for him to continue “You tripping about me inviting Garcelle, my old girl from high school. And I look on your list and you got deadbeat baby daddy Jason on there.” He said as he walked out of the closet and turned out the light, he sat on the bed and MeMe stood in front of him looking at him “What?” he said as he noticed her looking at him
“You really need to come up with something else, because this Jason stuff is getting old. Fast.” She said as he just stared blankly at her “I’m sorry that you don’t like Jason, but there is no need for you to worry, don’t be threatened by him, Omari.” She said as he stood up to face her
“Threatened? I ain’t threatened, Jason ain’t got nothin on me.” He said as she rolled her eyes
“Well, what is your problem?” he said as he walked around and started pacing
“It’s not that I don’t like him. Well, that’s part of it, but this is our day. The day that me and you become husband and wife, and you gotta have your ex-man, your baby daddy there. Why?” he said as he stopped pacing and she just looked at the floor
“Omari, you just proved my point. You’re right this is our day. And if it’s our day, then why, does Garcelle have to be there?” she said as he looked away from her and out of his bedroom window. She walked over to him and put her arms around his waist, causing him to turn around. He placed her arms around his neck and kissed her softly on the lips.
“I’m sorry,” he said to her as she smiled
“Me, too baby,” she said as she kissed him “I love you,” she whispered in his ear,
“I love you, too,” he said as he picked her up and placed her on the bed, and let his lips explore her curvaceous body.
“Baby, marriage is all about compromise right?” she asked him as he looked her in her eyes and nodded yes “Okay then, let’s compromise,” she said as he nodded his head and continued to kiss her body “I’ll uninvite Jason, if you uninvite Garcelle,” she said as he stopped kissing her and got off the bed
“Say what?” he said as he stared at her
“What, you can’t do it. You can invite her, but I can’t invite Jason? That ain’t right, O and you know it,” she said as she sat on the edge of the bed.
“Baby, you heard me. I said what I had to say, if he shows up at the church, you can marry him, because I won’t go through with it.” He said as he began to walk out the room
“Omari, you’re overreacting,” she said as he turned around to face her
“He better not get an invitation.” Omari said calmly and then walked out of the room. Me’shelle sighed loudly and then flopped back on the bed.
Jarday and Jarell had spent the whole day together, just chilling like they used to. Jarday had been working so hard and Jarell had been…not working. But anyway, they didn’t really get to see each other much. They had just pulled up in the driveway of Jarell’s house and they stepped inside.
“Dang, baby, when the last time you cleaned up in here?” she said as she looked at the DVD’s scattered around the living room, various dishes on the coffee table, and articles of clothing on the furniture.
“Why would I clean up, that’s what I got you for,” he said as she turned around and looked at him and squinted her right eye
“You’re right,” she said in a preppy sort of way
“I am?” Jarell questioned cluelessly
“Yea, and why am I still here, when I’ve got a real man to go home to.” Jarday said as she walked past him out of the living room
“Ay girl, where you going?” he said as she grabbed her purse and jacket “Dae, baby I’m talking to you, where you going?” he questioned as she still said nothing
“To see my man,” she said as she opened his front door and stepped outside, she was walking to her car when Jarell started to chase her around the front yard
“Jarell, what you doing? Quit playing!” she yelled as he still continued to chase her
“Tell me I’m the only man you got,” he said as she hid behind one of the bushes
“I don’t wanna lie, Rell,” she said as she ran away again, he chased her and ran around until he realized he couldn’t find her anymore “Dae, where you at, baby?” he yelled, no answer
“I’m over here, Rell,” Jarday yelled from the backyard
“Where’s over here,” he said making his way to the back area, he was now standing at the edge of his swimming pool in the back
“Right here!” Jarday yelled as she ran up behind him, he turned around and she pushed him in the pool, but she wasn’t quick enough, Jarell grabbed her by her shirt and pulled her in with him. By now they were laughing and splashing in the pool, when it got quiet and they stared into one another eyes
“Jarday, I love you…so much,” Jarell said as he swept a strand of her wet hair out of her face, he watched her light brown eyes drift downward and then he got worried, “Baby, what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing, Jarell. It’s just that…naw, nevermind it’s stupid,” she trailed off
“Dae, go ahead, tell me,” he said as she got comfortable and told him
“I love you, too, Jarell. It’ s just that everything I love, I lose. I don’t wanna lose you, Rell,” she said as tears began to come to her eyes,
“Baby,” he said as a tear rolled down her cheek, “Baby, listen,” he said as he turned her chin, so that she was looking at him again “You don’t have to worry about that, I’m not going anywhere, because I love you,” he said as she smiled again
“Jarell, you really mean that?” she questioned as he looked her into her eyes
“Fa sho, guhl,” he said in a country voice, and gave her that adorable smile
“I love you, too, baby,” she said as he pushed her up against the wall of the pool and kissed her softly. She slowly allowed his tongue to separate her lips, and then massaged his tongue with hers. Jarday was just getting into it, when Jarell broke away from the kiss.
“Oh, baby, I forgot something,” he said as he pulled something from his pocket
“Jarell, what’s this?” she said as she looked at the object he was holding
“You ain’t going nowhere either,” he said as she looked at him confused
“What?” she said as a slow smile formed across his face
“Jarday Tiana, move in with me,” he said as she smiled and took the key from his hand and kissed him again “I take that as a ‘yes,’ he said as he kissed her again…
Ashley was sitting at home watching Cita’s World on BET, she had eaten a full gallon of Orange Sherbet ice cream, a pack of Oreo’s, and two ham sandwiches. She was two steps away from falling asleep, when her doorbell rang, she stumbled to the door and looked through the peephole. When she saw who it was she wiped the sleep out of her eyes, the residue off her lips, and brushed her fingers through her wavy hair.
“Hey,” a male voice said to her as she still stood there
“What do you want?” she said in a stern voice
“Nothing much, just came to pick up my stuff,” he said as he walked past her with an empty carboard box
“I can’t believe you got the nuts to come around here, De’Mario,” she said as he looked at her with confused eyes
“What are you talking bout, Ashley?” he questioned as she just shook her head in frustration and walked past him, picking up her trash in the living room
“Just get your shit and get out. Adrienne’s probably waiting for you,” she said as he stopped in his tracks and looked at her, forming his mouth to say something until she cut him off “Save it, Mario, I don’t wanna hear it, and hurry up.” She said as she walked into the kitchen and De’Mario looked around for his belongings
“Where is everything?” he said searching and not finding anything
“It’s over here,” she said as he followed her to a box in the hall closet, she picked it up and lunged it at him
“ ‘De’Mario’s shit?’” he said as he read what she wrote on the box
“Well, that’s what it is,” she said as she squirmed around him trying to get out of the closet, but trying not to touch him
“You know what, Ashley, I didn’t come over here to get your damn attitude,” he said as he walked out of the closet and closed the door behind him
“De’Mario you didn’t have to come over here at all. Don’t think you’re doing me any favors,” she said as she began to get angry
“What do I gotta do to get you to do to forgive me?” he questioned while stepping closer to her as she backed away
“Well, you can start by getting the hell out my house, and then staying the hell out my life,” she yelled at him, as Mario jumped, he had never seen her get so mad. They both stood there speechless, as De’Mario noticed the single tear that fell down Ashley’s left cheek. He put the box down on the floor, and walked over to her and attempted to put his arms around her waist, she flinched at his approach
“No, don’t touch me,” she said in a shaky voice, as he stopped, taking that as his cue, De’Mario picked up the box and walked to the front door,
“Ashley, it’s not that I didn’t want you, but I didn’t know how to want you and be me, too.” He said as he opened the door, and walked out of her apartment. Ashley ran to the door, to try to catch him but he was already gone. She leaned against the front door, and thought about what he said. She was confused. Was this his way of apologizing, was he leaving her alone for good, was he trying to try again??? All kinds of questions ran through her mind. She didn’t know what to do.
Dreux got in his new cream colored Escalade sitting on 24’s, and pulled out of his driveway. He was real excited. He called Capri this morning and they talked about a lot of things. They had agreed to meet at his favorite chinese place, Yen Ching, for lunch. He had put on a black Sean John shirt, with black jeans, and tan timbs. He pulled up, walked inside and looked for Capri, she was sitting at a table, by the window.
“Dreux, over here!” she called to him, signaling him to the table
“Hey girl, you look good,” he said as they stood up and hugged, he looked her up and down, using his eyes to explore the body that he missed so much. They sat down and they looked at the menus for a minute when Capri broke the silence
“You cut your hair,” she said noticing Dreux’s curls were compacted in a low cut fade
“Oh yea, I’m starting from scratch again, trying something new. Thank you,” he said to her, you died your hair, he said noticing that her jet black hair, now had dark brown highlights in it
“Yea, I just highlighted it. You like it?” she said as he nodded yes
“So, how you been?” Dreux asked her
“Good. I’m going back to beauty school to do nails now. So now I can be all multi-talented, and whatnot.” She said as they both laughed, “What about you,”
“Oh, I’ve been aight. I just started the development for my new record label, Fizzle Musizzle,” he said to her as she caught herself staring at Dreux
“Really? That’s good,” she said as their food came, and Dreux began to watch Capri eat. He thought it was so cute they way her cheeks puffed up when her mouth was full and the way she swallowed. Obsessed nigga.
“What?” she questioned as he caught himself
“Nothing,” he said as he began to eat his food, tired of beating around the bush, he asked her what had been on his mind since Me’shelle’s party, “Capri, what’s going on with you and that guy?” he said as she bout choked on her chicken
“The guy’s name is Zane. And what’s going on with you and Maggie?” she said as she begin to eat again
“You mean, Mariah? Ain’t nothing going on, trust me. I don’t even know why I wasted my time.” He said to her as she looked up from her plate into his chestnut brown eyes
“I feel ya, Dreux. I mean Zane was just a rebound guy. It didn’t take me long to realize that I didn’t want Zane. I wanted you. So, Dreux, can I have you?” she said as she got up from the table and walked out of the restaurant and to the parking lot. Her suspense was killing Dreux and by the look in her eyes, he had to follow her. They ended up at Dreux’s house, and headed straight for the bedroom. They were doing their thang, and Capri was screaming so loud, niggas in Japan could hear her yelling, telling, and spelling Dreux’s name. After the episode, they were in bed, Capri was resting on Dreux’s chest while he was rubbing his hands up and down her back.
“Dreux?” she said to him as she looked up at him
“Whassup?” he said to her
“One more chance, baby, give me one more chance,” the alarm radio blasted in his ear, it was the newest artist on Platinum Status, Giovanni, she remade one more chance, with Fizz on the rap vocals. He sat up in his bed found his body drenched with sweat. He wiped his hands over his face and reviewed what had just happened. This had to have been the fifth dream this week he had about Capri, and in every dream. They would talk, have sex, and then he’d wake up in a sweat. He kept wondering if the dreams were trying to tell him something that he couldn’t see, but he shook it off, hit ‘snooze,’ on his alarm, and went back to sleep.
