i am sooooo sorry that i didnt update this when i said i would! this might not be the best but i did the best i could. i had a bad case of writers block and ... whatever just read the story lol holla.
Chapter 4
“Rika, Ta’Rika! Answer me!” I hollered “Rika, Rika!”
Druex came running towards us. “This nigga don’t quit. Run!”
“Where’s my sister?”
“He … didn’t I tell you to get the fuck out of here? This mo’fo’ is insane!”
Rell jerked Monee and me by the arm “Lets bounce! Druex you can still get away. Raven go through that … wall opening or whatever they call it. Just go!”
“Naw I can barely walk. I hit my knee into the wall when I was commin this way.”
I took Druex’s hand “It aint that far”
The killer came out of my room; knife in hand, ready to kill. I refused to give up on Druex. He was the only thing we had left besides Jarell.
“Come on, Druex!”
Druex stood up slowly and stared at the killer. He let go of my hand and mumbled, “you mothafucka… you killed my girl!” Druex swung at the killers face and he swung back, forcing Druex onto the floor.
“Rashida!” Rell yelled. from the other side of the wall. I looked back at Druex doing all he could to move away from the killer w/o using his legs. “Rashida!” Jarell yelled again. I had no choice but to leave Druex behind. I jumped though the open space in the wall and joined the others on the other side.
“You okay?” Raven asked.
“Yeah… I don’t hear anything.”
Rell peeked over the wall to see if they were still there. “They aint even there no more”
“Get down Jarell. Monee commanded him pulling him by his shirt. You’re the only man left”
“So how we gonna get out of here?” Jarell said ignoring Monee’s orders.
“We need a phone or we could put on the security system.” I proposed
“So what happens when you do that?”
“What happens is the lazers come on and if he opens a widow, crosses over a laser or whatever the system calls the police. But the only problem is… I forgot it.”
“What?! You live here and you don’t know the code?!”
“I could never remember it so if I needed to put it on, I would tell Rika to do it”
“You couldn’t even remember a number?”
“I remember there’s a 5”
“That’s the first number” Monee said, “ I've been over enough times to know that’s the first number. Raven practically lives here so she should know the whole thing”
“Shhh…. That’s what Im trying to remember.”
“Hurry up!”
We heard a door close.
“You can’t rush me! Uh…. Monee, Ra come with me over to keypad next to the screen door to put the code in. I cant think when Im doing something else.”
“What about Jarell?” Monee asked, worried about him being killed.
“You stay over there with him then, just don’t do anything … keep your eyes open” I told them and we walked quietly to the keypad.
“Bend down so he doesn’t see us”
“He’s going to see my hand pushing the buttons so we might as well stand.”
“Whateva, uh the first two numbers are 5. 8…”
I pushed in 5 8 “5 8 what what we got 3 more…”
“5 8 - three..”
“Jarell!!” Monee shrieked. The killer had Rell in a sleeper hold from the other side of the wall. Monee contunied to scream as Rell fought.
“Damn! Rell needs help I wanna go and help him”
“Stay over here he might kill you too. You have to put this in while its fresh in my mind.”
“But…” sorry Rell, I thought to my self. I took a deep breath to keep from shaking, punched in what Raven told me and waited for more “5 8 3…”
Monee stopped screaming and fainted. By that time the killer and Jarell were gone.
“ Gotdammit… Monee? You better get up!” I shouted
Raven wasn’t concerned about Monee or that Jarell was probably dead by now. She just wanted to get out.
“5836. That’s it 5836…”
“One more number …” I left the keypad and shook Monee “Come on Monee… we gotta get outta here!”
“Wait I remember!”
“Remember what?”
“Your mom said if you ever forgot the code, she hid it in here somewhere.” Raven knew more about my house than I did.
“Where?”
“Umm … inside one of these videotape boxes. Ugh why can’t I remember which one…” Raven began to panic.
“Rae, calm down. That’s why Monee fainted.”
“Oh! She said its in one of the tapes that you never watch”
“Lion king… E.T., Uh-Jurassic Park. Try one of those”
“That’s it Jurassic park!”
Raven rummaged through the movies as I kept shaking Monee to wake her up.
“Pleeeaaaazzzeee wake up Monee. Raven you found it?” I said w/o looking at her.
“Here it is!”
“Monee?” I reached over towards our coffee table, grabbed a glass w/ water in it and tossed the water on her face. She woke up.
“What the … what was that for?”
“You fainted. Thank goodness you woke up cuz we gotta get out of here”
I helped Monee up to her feet, she followed me to the keypad and I told Raven to call out the code.
“Okay the code is 5836-”
Monee and I wanted to get out so bad, we didn’t think anything of Raven’s abrupt pause.
“5836, what Rae?”
We heard a muffled scream and Monee pointed at my arm. “Look”
The killer was back. He stood there with his hand covering Raven’s mouth. The killer raised his knife and drove it into the center of her back.
“Fuck!” We turned back around and tried to figure out the code.
“Uh 5-8-6-3”
“No clear that its 5836”
My hands were shaking so hard. I couldn’t breathe. I got dizzy.
“Im gonna pass out.”
“No, look try 58365”
Still shaking pressed the number in as fast as I could; it beeped loudly ‘access denied’
“Okay now 58366”
“5-8-3-6- …”
The lights had come back on and a door slammed again.
“Shit he fuckin with the lights!”
“His is not going to work. Uh … check the screen door.”
I gradually pulled on the screen door. “Its locked… from the inside. What the…”
“Don’t think about it… get behind the couch.” Monee suggested.
We hid behind the couch. I looked over and the lights cut off again.
oOoOoOoO lol whats gonna happen next! lol stay tuned for the next episode of....
