Subject: A Review of the New Years Eve Show at the HOB

The doors opened at 1:30 for the House of Blues show. The band didn't come out on stage until 3:30. The first song they did was Welcome to the Jungle. They played it while flahing scence's of violence on a large screen in the background. They played the entire Appetite album except for You're Crazy. They played Patience, live and let die,you could be mine,Oh my god. They also rolled out the piano for november rain. They did Knockin' on heavens door more like the Bob Dylan version as Axl said he wanted to put a different twist on the song. Out of the new songs the band played;Chinese Democracy,Rahd,Silkworm, and a slow song:The Blues, which had Dizzy Reed playing on Axl's piano. The show ended with none other than Paradise City. The guitarist "Buckethead" wore a white mask and a KFC bucket on his head. It was an obvious mockery toward Slash. For a break "buckethead" came out on stage alone swinging nun-chucks, and after he flung those into the crowd went into a Mr.Roboto dance. The band sounded great, Axl was in great voice and the crowd was energized.
