fazit: your TP is entering standby-mode when booting..

my idea: the 760 has got two switches for automatic standby-mode when

- shut the display

- lift up the keyboard...

maybe this Tp had a crash. in this case a small pin below the keboard, which is responsible for the standby-switch broke off... my solution:

Lift up the keyboard by pushing the two display-hooks to the back. Under the keyboard a bit right from the two mouse-keys is a small recess. Therein is that standby-switch ( normally pressed in by that pin on the bottom near the battery-pack. this may be broke.. ). Fix that switch by sticking in a match or something similar and some tape or adhesive.. ( the other switch is located between keyboard and display, but i think, this could not be the reason for your problem..) have success !
