Also eine Vermutung ist die, dass es einen Ressorcen-Konflikt bei der IRQ verteilung unter Win gibt ( 15 = master 14= slave). Da sie automatisch zugeordnet werden, kann man da schlecht eingreifen.

Sind die beiden CD-ROMS auf Slave gejumpert? Irgendwo im Geh�use sind drei Jumper. Belegung notfalls auf der Hersteller-seite nachschauen.Auch wenn ich keinen Grund w�sste, warum sie jemand umgesteckt haben sollte.
Entferne mal den HDD kontroller im Ger�temanager bei ausgest�pseltem CD-ROM und boote mal mit CD-Rom drin neu.
Lad dir mal die Diagnostic Diskette bei IBM runter. Hiermit kannst du wohl das System kontrolliert hochfahren. Zumindest hats bei nem Kollegen trotz defektem Trackpoint geklappt.

Bis wieviel GB vertr�gt das 760 CD BIOS? Hab keine Angaben dr�ber gefunden.
ob das irgendwie weiterhilft weiss ich nicht. Probieren sollte man alles mal. Kommt mir allerddings alles auch seltsam vor.
Hast du den neuesten Mwave Treiber? Das BIOS update erfordert wohl auch dieses.. *Daumendr�ckt
