The 760 keyboard really isn't the best IBM ever invented, but newer ones are far better than those in the Cx and Lx series, even when they are a bit worn out. You might lubricate the mechanical parts with some teflon precision grease (sparsely!) or you might refrain from lifting up the keyboard. Typing then produces less vibration and the touch is more precise.
