interessanter Weise hatte ich vor nicht allzulanger Zeit ein ähnliches Problem. Auf meiner Arbeit benutze ich u.a. auch ein 770er, letztlich mit gleichen Symptomen.
Ein befreundeter Fachmann bei IBM öffnete das Gerät, kämpfte sich (unter allen Thinkpads, deren Öffnung ich bisher gesehen habe dauerte es beim 770er am längsten u war am kompliziertesten) zum Prozessor durch, der sich leicht gelockert hatte. Das passiert bei diesen Geräten wohl relativ häufig, Ursache kann u.a. sein, wenn man den Speicher austausch u. damit an der Hauptplatine arbeitet u sie somit bewegt.
