well i got a draw tight hitch this weekend. it sits too low. when i went to install it, the bumper brackets wouldnt fit around it. so i sawed out the bumper holes so i could put the brackets on, then put the bumper on the brackets. well then i hitched up the car and trailer. we guess its about 4200 lbs. pulled it great with the a/c on. it was a hot day, 95 degrees, and my temp was 215 (180 stat & tranny cooler). at night it was 195 degrees. but i have one major problem, almost cut my drive shaft! here's how, you others wont have this problem, i am sure that brule and i are the only crew cabs on the planet that have gas tank shields. well, when the weight of the tongue compressed the suspension down the bracket that holds the gas tank sheild came close enough to the drive shaft that the weight on the end of the drive shaft would rub against the shield and make a terrible noise. but the funny thing is, it would only happen on turns. going straight was no problem. but when turning, i guess the rear would flex towards the shield and then the rub would occur. sheeeesh. i am stricken with rubbing. rubbing tires, rubbing drive shaft!!! aahhhhh! - hobie
