I say go with 5/16 or 3/8 spacers on the front. Just make sure that you still have enough threads to go through the hex portion of the lug nut, any less could be unsafe.
If it looks like you won't have long enough wheel studs, it's no big deal to install longer ones.
Speedway Motors shows 3/8 spacers for $9.95, you should be able to find them local for close to that.
