If I read the Eaton site correctly, the G80 for GM models is a Mechanical Locker which means it locks when it see's big difference in wheel speed, while a Limited Slip senses Torque from the engine to activated clutch packs to stop the wheels from spinning. Funny thing is that my Isuzu Trooper LSD is code G80 but it's not a locker but uses Clutch Packs. I've never tried power braking on my Trooper so I dont' know if LSD will spin both tires at a stop light(maybe I'll try it this weekend). The Crew with the Locker will spin both BTW(test that already) ;)

So to real world, LSD or G80 will be fine for on road. for off-road, LSD needs torque to activate so you need some revs to get it to activate. While the G80 will need different wheel speeds to activate so less revs to activate. I'm not sure about other LSDs, but Isuzu, Nissan, and Toyota LSD needs the Limited Slip additive to keep the clutchs good.

Please correct me if I'm off on the info. Thanks.
