For the last couple of years, I've had this MP3 of a live performance from Shawn (Well, the singer says, "...and Shawn Lane began to howl!"). It's a fantastic cover of "All Along The Watchtower". The playing makes me want to write a classified ad for all my guitar gear. :-) I'm sure a few of you hardcore FastLaners have this one as well. Folks have told me it's from a Willys gig back when SL was in his late teens/early twenties. The 'hat tip' to Dylan/Jimi is done with absolute taste and class, then Shawn lets loose. You've all seen/heard the damage before.....

I've tried, really hard, to learn Shawn's runs and the outro solo, but I'll have a weekend of nakedness with Stephanie Seymour and Elle MacPherson at a nude beach in Bermuda before I TAB that song out. I did get two of the runs down (at 1:35 and 3:15) with help from the trained ear of a Berklee buddy. Not at Shawn's speed, of course, but I got the notes correct! LOL I figured a video might help me (take two: 15 months of daily personal lessons from Shawn wouldn't help me...heh heh).....

Video #2 looked right, so I ordered it last night. If anyone knows differently, please let me know (here). I'll try to post a track listing once the video arrives.
