Subject: rigel michelena

Just found this, haven't heard anything yet,but I thought it's kinda rare, guitarists and their music aren't often compared to Shawn's P.O.T.
found this on http://www.silverdb.com/MUSIC_DBCDInfo.asp?txtCDID=1862#

Another gem from South America, This cd is featuring the immense talents of Rigel Michelina, particularly as a guitarist, and may I say he possesses the all around skill of the greats in the fusion world ala John McLaughlin, Al DiMeola, Steve Morse, yet the music ventures into territories beyond the scope of any of the bands those guys were associated with, to say he has a particular style is a gross understatement, Rigel has an uncompromising dedication to being unpredictable on this disc, at times you will hear highly complex compositions that can echo the brilliance of Shawn Lanes'-Power of Ten cd, some of Zappas'confounding technicality, a song that is very reminescent of Ron Jarzombeks' Spastic Ink,and some incredible acoustic playing on a solo piece that is very original, mainly Rigel likes sophistication, complexity, radical time signature changes, heavy guitars, ala Vai, Morse, Jarzombek, never a dull moment. I find that cds like this are far too few, I can only hope that Rigel can put together another incredible potpourri of sonic grandeur.
