no, shawn and i are not "buds" we met many years ago and stayed in touch on and off...i've been trying to get shawn to record some parts for a project involving rahat fateh ali khan for awhile and things seemed to slowly start moving in that direction in the past month but now with the
sad news of his father's passing things are put on hold...temporarily i hope.
as far as our respective playing goes it's for others' to judge but as far as i'm concerned shawn is a major source of inspiration and he's to me not only technically unreachable but also creatively unparalleled...he's up there in that olympus with holdsworth, mclaughlin, jaco, hendrix etc...i only wish the very best to him and his family
