When Jeff Sipe was working with his group in the south, which later evolved into Aquarium Rescue Unit, there was this old southern preacher who used to broadcast from his own apartment "live from apartment q-258" in whatever building, downtown Nashville or Atlanta, I'm not sure. This preacher was a tad bit eccentric, and the band Sipe was in wished to use him on the road, as a bit of an opening act. But when they couldn't find him, they brought along his recordings to play for the audience, and as a joke began introducing the drummer Sipe as "Apt. Q-258 on drums" and the name stayed, with him, and other bands he played in, who listened to his previous work.
