in my opinion: no... i think the more he get known by people, the more people wanna hear more and they will buy his records, so not only he get better known, also the family is getting some money...
he just should get recognized better than before...

and IMO if some people downloaded a few tunes from an artist, they will buy his records... for me its not about money as a artist, its about getting your stuff to the people, to get recognized by the people, and better known, thats all what a musician wants..
