hi bob i live in ballykelly and have saw a crashed 'Corsair' plane in the water in lough foyle u can see it at low tide or used to be able to see it at low tide havnt been down that way in a while. Apparently it was an american navy plane stationed at eglinton that was running out of fuel and had to land at ballykelly but didnt make it. i cant remember the exact details,i think he survived when farmers in a field nearby saw the crash and went to help him. there where other crashes around this area aswell they are mentioned in a book entitled 'Wings over the Foyle' which u may be able to get in a libruary.
hope u get this and hope it helps, adam
