Hello, thank you for this message.

I have heard from some of the authors of these various book setc over the last months and I really dispair!

I have been through the two USAAF crash listing sites and neither recall this aircraft but then they do not record aircraf that took off after refueling only. I'm by no means sticking up for anyone or anything but perhaps you know how this Killhoey aircraft stoey was fabricated? They have even a pilots name and he supposably visited the area.

As regards the Ballyvaughan P-38, this is a strange one also. The 82nd Fighter Group website, 82ndfightergroup.com i think but search google) does list a Pilot Brodhead but he is deffeinatly NOT listed as having any form of mishap on the date of the crash. He is however lsited as shooting down a Ju88 over the bay of Biscay on that day. MacCarrons book does give this story but then Dwyer says that he was flying from Liverpool??

thanks for the message nevertheless. Feel like taking down my site altogether with this level of carry on.

with best regards

Dennis
