I didn't have to do anything to make them think that. The royals were jelous of me. She sighs. I was daughter to the King, but had no claim on anything because my mother was just a woman in his harem. But he loved her more than any of his children or his wife. And they all knew that. Of course his wife, the Queen, was jelouse of the affections my father lavished on my mother. And the children they had together meant nothing to him other than the fact that they were his heirs. She looks away, her eyes seemingly to stare off into some other time and place.
When my mother found out she was pregnant with me, my father was overjoyed. I was a child produced by his love for another, not because he had no other choice. Unfortunately, my mother died during child-birth, but my father took care of me. He would let no harm come to me of anyone and he taught me everything a woman of royal status should know. This did not make the rest of his family happy. To them, I was his bastard child to a whore and receiving a treatment I did not deserve. Another sigh was emitted as she paused for a moment.
I have special powers like my mother. The ability to 'See' as they call it. But my power is not fully developed and I do not know how to use it whenever I please. It just comes to me. That's where the beliefe that I'm a sorceress comes in, she says with a dry chuckle.
Anyways, when they found out that my fathered had planned to change the laws of inheritance with the churches help, they knew they had to get rid of me fast for I would be the one he chose to inherit the throne. They murdered him and set me up for it. The people may or may have not believed them, but there was nothing they could have done about it. Tears come to her eyes at the memories of loosing her father and the betrayal by those she had no choice but to call family.
I was believed to be a sorceress, so the soldiers were ordered not to rape me because I would poison them. And I could not be killed because it was impossible; they told the people I would come back and kill everyone in the village. None of this is true of course, but that's what they said. They just wanted to punish me for my father's loving me so much. They said I would be sent to 'Hell on Earth' where I would be punished until the end of my natural life, a fitting punishment for the King's murderess.
She sighs again and looks to Aoshi. So there you have it. My past and how I ended up here. What else did you want to know? she asks....
