Paradise Valley
You pick your way through a dense forest, filled with mystery and adventure. Sunlight slips through the shadows to spill into gleaming pools at your feet. A gentle breeze ruffles your mane, you know your destination is near. Quite suddenly there is a break in the trees. You emerge in a beautiful valley. Lush green grass stretches for miles over the gently rolling hills, waving invitingly in the breeze. Wild flowers dot the emerald carpet here and there, adding their vibrant color to the glorious scene. Ancient trees stand tall and proud, providing their shade and shelter to all. A wild apple tree or two is evident to your hungry eyes. A gentle roar tells your keen ears of a river somewhere in the forest. It flows along the side of the valley, becoming wider and quieter as it reaches itŐs destination at a pristine lake in the far end of the valley. ItŐs waters sparkle and shine in the distance, beckoning you on. A muffled shuffle is heard from behind you and you tear your eyes off the valley to look back. A jet black stallion stands on the trail, raven mane billowing gently in the breeze. Obviously he followed you most of the way here. He steps towards you, powerful muscles rippling beneath glossy ebony pelt. Although at first glance he would appear to be like any other horse he seems to radiate a sense of charisma beneath his brave and honest expression. Dark orbs hide a hint of laughter as he speaks. Welcome stranger, to Paradise Valley, home of the Lights. I am Garon, King of these lands. If you are Light you are free to make your home here. It is truly a wonderful place. His voice hardens slightly, gaze regarding you solemnly. Darks are not welcome here unless on royal business. If you are with them you would be wise to leave very quickly. The stallion tosses his head irritably then continues. Many positions are open to competent mares and stallions. If you stay active and act responsibly you are likely to receive one. However, if you ask for one you lessen your chances of receiving it drastically. Also, please donŐt ask me about the position of Queen Light. That is not open for discussion. If you have further questions you are likely to find me in the forest. With a snort he turns and canters back into the gloom. You stare after him till his form is lost among the shadows then return your gaze to the glorious meadow. Will you stay?
