RAZORBACK RECORDS Winter Newsletter
http://www.razorbackrecords.com

It's been a bumpy road for Razorback this past year. It took us a long time to get a new release out as most of our bands weren't able to record when we had hoped they could. Now, 2002 looks to be our biggest and best year yet as we have tons of amazing full-length CD's planned to be unleashed along with a very special split CD that was planned last year, which will finally surface in 2002. Read on fiends...

FUCK...I'M DEAD: Their debut CD for Razorback, "Bring On The Dead", has been doing great and the reviews and responses keep coming in. We're very proud of this release and we're glad the band decided on us releasing it for them. Anybody who hasn't picked up a copy yet should do so now and don't forget to check out the band's awesome and always updated web site. Look for a vinyl version of the new CD tracks to come out in Europe sometime in 2002, along with an appearance on the planned Australian Assault compilation CD for Relapse Records. web site: http://www.geocities.com/fukimdead

GHOUL: Finally, their debut CD "We Came For The Dead" will be out in the first week or so in January. GHOUL has been our top-secret band for a long time and many people are still scratching their heads wondering just who the hell these 3 hooded freaks from a town called Creepsylvania really are! Well, that's something that may never be known, so in the meantime be sure to check out the first album from GHOUL haunting you and the underground in 2002! The album has one of the best productions for a Razorback release ever and all the tracks are heavy, fast, and catchy as hell. Whether this is an EC or CREEPY horror comic book come to life, or the REAL thing, one thing is certain...the music will bring back the memories of why you got into this style of metal in the first place. For those who are going around saying this is "just another Carcass clone band", all we can say is, WHO CARES what you think! If you don't like it, go do your own record label and put out whatever the hell you think is good. For those who like death metal the way it was meant to be played, and enjoy the sounds created by early Carcass and early Grave, we recommend you check this CD out, before GHOUL comes and chops you up and eats you all. GHOUL will also appear on a planned REPULSION tribute album released by an Asian label sometime in 2002. Check out their web site here: http://www.razorbackrecords.com/ghoul.htm

MACHETAZO: The band's second full-length CD for Razorback was supposed to have been released in the summer of 2001, but lots of problems and line-up changes delayed that....but now the album is finally recorded and will be unleashed in January/February 2002! The new CD is called "Trono De Huesos" and it's their darkest and most horrified(!) release yet! Faster and more grind induced with a much more raw and filthy sound and gloomy and sinister artwork from the Spanish master of horror, Nor Prego. We are drooling for the release of this and hope you will be too! The band's first album "Carne De Cementerio" will be released on vinyl through Throne Records in Spain, more ordering information on that will be posted soon. MACHETAZO is also planned to appear on a 4-way split CD on Relapse Records in 2002 with EXHUMED, REGURGITATE, and DISGORGE(Mex.), along with the long planned split 7" ep with IMPALED on The Spew Records from Italy. Check out MACHETAZO's web site and look for a new interview with the band on our web site soon. http://www.bludgawd.com/machetazo

GRUESOME STUFF RELISH: The tentative title for this Spanish cannibalsplatter grindgore band's debut full-length CD is "Teengage Giallo Grind" and from the advance tracks that we've heard, this will be THE grindgore album to look for in 2002. Totally down-tuned, fast, and awesome pitched vocals from hell. This is a throwback to real and simple(nothing technical and NO modern influences at all) gory grindcore that takes a strong influence from early Carcass("Reek of Putrefaction" era), Impetigo("Ultimo Mondo Cannibale" era), Dead Infection, and even a heavy and blatant Swedish death metal/grind influence(Necrony). This is an album that you won't get bored with, as each track is simple, catchy, and also FUN(isn't that what this music should be?) to listen to. Look for this to be released in January/February. G.S.R. is also planning on doing a split 7" with ENGORGED but a label has not been decided on yet. Look for a new interview with the band on our site soon. Check out their new web site here: http://www.gruesomestuffrelish.ht.st

LORD GORE: The band has been working extremely hard on their debut CD "The Autophagous Orgy" for a long time now and we all know it will be worth the wait! The band is now finishing up the vocal tracks and in the next month or so everything will be mixed. We hope to release this sometime in February or March of 2002. Get ready for one of the heaviest and extreme death/gore metal albums from the underground in many years, which takes influence from the masters who created this music(i.e. Autopsy, Impetigo, etc.) and turns up the gore even more with their own twisted ideas and sound. Don't be confused with anything else, these guys are the real deal for this style of music. For years we felt that the genre of "death metal" was dying or already dead, no longer do we feel that way after hearing what this band is all about. Get ready or just go the hell away. The band will also appear on the planned REPULSION tribute album along with trying to find a label who will release a split 7" with Finnish creeps MORBID SAVOURING. Check out the LORD GORE web site: http://www.lordgore.net

BIRDFLESH: The best grind band from Sweden that I've ever heard, this is a release we've been looking forward to since we first heard these guys back in 1999. After cranking out tons of killer ep's and also their cult LP only release "Alive Autopsy", we knew the time was right to ask the band for a full-length CD for Razorback. We've heard the advance songs for the new album(tentatively titled "Coffinfucker), and we are convinced this is the most creative and original band in grindcore and extreme metal in general. These guys carry a huge REPULSION influence but go beyond that to make their own style of grindcore and even going beyond grindcore as well. The band is in the finishing stages of the new recording and we hope to have this out in the late winter of 2002! BIRDFLESH is also going to appear on a planned Swedish Assault CD compilation for Relapse Records. Check out their web site here: http://www.birdflesh.com

IMPALED / HAEMORRHAGE split CD - For those who thought this wasn't going to happen anymore, don't worry, it IS! Lots of delays and other bullshit kept this back, but now with all the crap out of the way, this will finally see the light of day in 2002. Still no date on when either band will record, but we do know that most of the material will be recorded around the same sessions for each band's new upcoming full-length albums. All of the material for this will be brand new exclusive tracks recorded for this CD only, and will be a special "concept" story in both the music, and also the packaging/design of the CD. We'll keep you posted on this epic split release which we hope will be the best death/grind/gore metal split CD ever! Impaled web site: http://www.impaled.info and Haemorrhage web site: http://www.haemorrhage.ht.st

Well fiends, 2002 will be a busy year for Razorback Records, but we've been working hard for this and finally the waiting will be over. We hope to bring back the long lost feeling this music once gave us as fans. We do this label for our own enjoyment(and also hope some other people will like it too!) and we'll never accept any kind of trendy "scenester" bullshit and FAKE lifestyle. This is underground metal and grind the way we remember it to be, so bring on the horror and gore as this is gonna be a HOG-WILD ride!
