There are so many things on these carb models that can cause this problem, but here are some places to start.

With the air filter covered removed, engine cold, check that the choke sticks properly prior to starting. Start the car and carefully keep an eye on the choke plate (don't put you face over the carb in case it back fires), as the car warms slight watch to see in the choke plate release and your problem occurrs. If so there might be an issue with the choke or the vacuum advance system that works the choke and choke release. Something may be releasing prematurely due to a faulty motor, diaphram, or a vacuum leak in the system.
