If the engine temperature is constant as you described, then I too doubt that the thermostat is bad. The heater core is what provides heat to the interior of your car. If that is not working due to failure, wiring, etc., then you will not receive heat at "normal" levels to your cars interior. Not having looked at your car, my personal opinion is the heater core is bad. This is assuming that you are not getting heat out of any of your vents, regardless of the defroster air vents. An aftermarket one could cost around $75 for the part and price for the installation depends on where you go. If you feel more comfortable, you can have someone look at it and deduce whether it is the core or not, but based on what you are saying my guess is that it is the heater core.
