Sounds right...

When you jumper the blue connector, and turn the ignition switch on, the ECU codes are displayed by the flashing of the "Check Engine" light. The A/T Control Unit codes are displayed by flashing the "S" Indicator...and you read them as you described (long flashes are 10, short flashes are 1).

So, if you have no indication of the Check Engine light, and only code 15 on the S indicator, then only the A/T Control Unit is indicating a fault.

You mentioned that the NM Sensor was disconnected earlier, and after you reconnected, you still get intermittent faults. Have you checked the resistance of the sensor (should be 400-600 ohms)? If the resistance is OK, you might try checking it when the fault is active, to see if the sensor indicates an intermittent failure.

Other than that, I would just make sure you don't have a loose connection that might be causing the problem.

Also, there is another sensor on the opposite (firewall) side of the tranny that looks identical. It's the "NC Speed Sensor". It might be the same as the "NM Speed Sensor". You can call Honda to see if the part numbers are the same. If so, you might interchange them and see if the problem moves to fault code 9, for the NC Speed Sensor.

That's about all I can offer, Randy. Let me know if I can be of further help.

Good luck...

Mike
