Katherine,

if you are trying to locate the coolant temperature sensor, it is as stated under the dash on the driver's side. It is located next to the main relay (brown box) but in order to get to it, you must first remove some screws attaching the cruise control box (silver box). After pushing the cruise control box aside, use a flash light and shine it all the way up under the dash on the far left side. You will see the main relay (brown box) and bolted right next to it is the coolant temperature sensor (black box). You would need to remove a couple of screws to get it out.
