Don,

I'd forget the aftermarket and go with the Honda lights. I've got a set and they are extremely well made, very bright, and have a great dispersion pattern. They are made by Raybrig, and are completely integrated into the wiring harness with connectors, not splices, so you will never have problems with them. Yes, they do run $120 or so on the web, but sometimes you have to pay for quality. I have zero regrets on purchasing them, and the installation is very straightforward. If you go to www.hondaautomotiveparts.com you can see the installation instructions.

On aftermarket, a relay is used so that the switch at the dash does not have to take all the current that flows to the lights. Instead, the switch at the dash only carries a small current, just enough to energize the relay which carries the larger current. If the fog lights do not use a relay, than they are probably not very bright, but that is not always the case. A second relay is also used sometimes because the law is that the fog lights should only be used with low beams, so the relay causes the fogs to go out when the brights are turned on.

Hope this helps....Glen
