Ive got a 92 Accord, that is currently doing alot of shaking. My Mechanic suggested that it might be the motor mounts, but I didn't have the money on hand to get it fixed. Now when I take off I get a nice clunk sound. So in doing some web research, I came across this from "Advanced Auto Parts"

"THUNK upon acceleration can be unnerving. It can also foreshadow an expensive fix if not diagnosed and corrected before serious damage is done."

It goes on to point out that worn out motor mounts basically cause your engine to literally clunk around under the hood, rotating under acceleration. I am planning on getting this fixed as soon as possible, before my motor mounts break and drop my engine on the pavement.

FYI: 180,000 miles and no major break downs yet!
