Susan,

I don't think you'll put your life at risk, but it will continue to leak, and if you run out, you'll not be able to get the car out of gear.

$122 for a diagnosis is robbery. In my area, that would be about 3 hours labor! And the parts/labor prices also seem high, but that is easier to verify by calling another shop. It may also be a pain to remove the clutch master cylinder, and they also are recommending a slave cylinder replacement. Retail and wholesale prices for the parts can be determined at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com.

If you do have the dealer fix it, I'd ask to speak to the Service Manager (not the guys out front) and ask that they waive the diagnostic fee if they fix it. Seems they are pretty slow learners if it takes 3 hours of diagnosis on what is a very simple system.

If the leak is slow enough, you could just add fluid every week, but it sounds like it is bad since it came on so suddenly. The failure mode makes sense, but it is not common......glen
