sounds like an obvious one but i wanted some clarification before acting. i have a mint 2.2i manual which has the following symptoms. not heat from the heater followed by erratic idle followed by water loss onto the road. i instantly thought of a hole in the radiator so put rad weld in and the problem stopped for 2 months then reappeared. radwelded once more then reappeared so had to call the aa. he told me it was definately the gasket but have had others say it could be the waterpump or thermostat. although the car is mint and i got it cheaply i dont want to spend more than neccessary so will replacing the rad do the job or is it just the tip of the iceberg.

hoping you can help
