i just replaced the drivers side cv the axle with a lifetime warranty from Oreillys auto parts was $ 69.00 with a $ 69.00 core charge. i replaced it myself it wasnt too hard at all. you will need a forked ball joint tool( seperator)
you take off the wheel, remove the spindle nut, remove the tie rod end, remove the lower ball joint nut, push the shaft in and slide it out of the hub, then push the hub over out of your way. than take the forked ball joint tool and use it to pry the shaft out of the transmission. when you get ready to install the new shaft be sure the clip is on the shaft the part that goes in the trans. slide it all the way in until you hear a noticeable click, make sure it is in all the way. and just reverse the process in putting it back together. note that spindle nut can be a booger to get off, it is a 36mm .don
