Hi Billy;

I'm probably too late with my reply, but just in case you haven't started yet...

The thermostat housing is just behind the distributor. Just follow the lower (I'm pretty sure) radiator hose up to it. The thermostat housing also has the cooling fan temperature switch threaded in on the side, and the bleed screw at the top.

The thermostat flange has a hole in it with a pin that floats. The gasket wraps around the thermostat flange, and there is a (semi-circular) cutout in the gasket which lines up over the hole/pin. There is also a circular cutout in the engine block at the top to accommodate this pin.

Just look at the old one carefully when you remove it, and you shouldn't have a problem.

Don't forgat to bleed the air from the system when you refill the coolant. As you're filling with 50/50 antifreeze, loosen the bleed screw in the top of the thermoatat housing until a solid stream of coolant flows.

Hope this was helpful...

Mike
