Hi Mark;

I (and many many other Accord owners) have had the same problem with water leaking into the trunk.

Most of the time the gaskets are deteriorated on the light fixtures. The gaskets are foam rubber and they loose their sealing ability over the years. When water runs into the channel around the trunk lid, it flows right on top of the light fixtures, and the failing seal allows the water to run into the trunk.

Ther are actually 4 gaskets. 2 for the fender lights (which are usually the culprits), and 2 for the lights on the trunk lid (you probably won't have to replace them).

Call your Honda parts dealer, and ask for pricing and part numbers for the gaskets. They usually have to order them. I think they list for around $12 each. However, using the part numbers, you can get them much cheaper at:

I have purchased many parts from them and they are a great source.

Either way, replacing those gaskets should do the trick. I'd replace both of them while you're at it.

Good luck...

Mike
