(Sorry for the previous post. I hit "Enter" too soon...)

The manual actually has an input test for the timer, but you have to check it at the connector, with the the timer connected, and the ignition switch on. You also need a meter, to read DC voltage and continuity.

I know it's hard to reach, so let me know if you want any further info...
