Any codes set on the ECU? Look under the driver's seat from the backside, and count the flashes with the ignition on, engine not running. Post back your codes if you have any.

If you don't have any codes, you might have a bad coolant temperature sensor. The computer would think the engine is warm, and not provide the proper amount of fuel for a cold engine. Sort of like not setting the choke on a carburetted car. The TW (temperature water?) sensor is located on the thermostat housing, and has two pins. It is likely the one closest to the cylinder head, not the one next to the hose end.

Pull the connector off and measure the resistance at the sensor - it should be 200-400 ohms with the engine at about 70F, and about 5000 ohms at freezing (32F).

If the sensor is okay, then you might have a fuel drainback issue. You'd want to measure fuel pressure when starting.

First, though, check for codes and check the TW sensor...glen
