I had a crack in the radiator and no thermostate in the car when i bought it. It still got heat and the tempature gage read normal. I put in a new thermostate and replaced the radiator and now that the cold weather came it all stopped. The radiator and the top hose that goes to the housing gets really hot and my gage reads near H. The bottum hose from the radiator that goes to the side of the engine does not get hot or warm. When the car starts to over heat I shut it off and then 1 out of 2 of the fans kicks on. I love this car to pieces and i dont want to lose it. What does all this mean???? I really need some help b/c shops want to get there hands on it and i know they wont fix it right or will charge me too much.
