My mechanic say that my distributor is leaking oil and needs to have the O-ring replaced. I have a Haynes manual that describes how to remove the distributor. I fully understand each step, including correctly positioning the rotor before removing the distributor. My question is: how difficult is it to replace the distributor? Does it go in straight? Or do I have to turn it as I am re-installing it? I don't want to screw up my timing by installing it off by one or two threads.
