Subject: 91 Accord EX fuel gauge

 In the trunk on my 91 Accord there is a round plate on top of the gas tank with 3 screws and one connector. Anyone know what that is? My fuel gauge does not work and the plate around the connector is rusty. I'm inclined to believe that the two are related????
